Live Edge Olivewood Slabs

Olivewood (Olea spp.) is native to Eastern Africa.  Heartwood is a cream or yellowish brown, with darker brown or black contrasting streaks. Color tends to deepen with age. Olive is sometimes figured with curly or wavy grain, burl, or wild grain. These live edge slabs are kiln-dried and sanded to 150 grit.  We have taken the pictures after wiping on some Mineral Spirits to show off the grain pattern of the slab.  The slabs were measured from the center of the board in both width and length.  Keep in mind that these are one-of-a-kind live edge slab pieces – wood is a natural product, and pieces may have checks or other inconsistencies.  These are not considered defects. Thickness +/-1/8”.
