Monkeypod (Albizia saman), also known as Raintree, has commonly been used in millwork and trim, carving, furniture, and musical instruments. It has a golden to dark brown color typically with beautiful dark streaks and can be seen with a highly figured grain pattern. Monkeypod is easy to work with hand and machine tools, in addition to being highly durable and resistant to insect attack.
