Woodsmith Heirloom Cherry Bed Plan

The simple lines of this classic solid cherry bed will grace any bedroom. As shown, it fits a queen-size mattress and box spring. However, if you want to build a twin-size or full-size bed, all you have to do is alter the length of the side rails and the width of the headboard and footboard. Full dimensions and plans for these changes are included. The bed uses knock-down fasteners to connect the rails to the headboard and footboard. They are extremely strong, and can be quickly disconnected without tools so the bed can be easily stored of moved. And you won’t lose any sleep figuring out how to make all the mortises for the slats. A simple jig and a hand-held router make it easy.
